And Gandalf also!

Since I am about to leave for Xmas, a couple of Gandalfs as well. Merry Xmas to all!

Arwen by request

Arwen was portrayed quite well in the films and I liked her rol and everything, but she was too soft to be among my favorite characters. She was specially good fighting the nazguls in the river

... but this was not the Arwen I had in mind after the films. She was more like this:

And an inked Gimli

This is unusual because I suck at inks, but I thought that Gimli would look cooler if I did the effort and inked it before color. You tell me :)

Two pencil ones trying to draw Miranda Otto as Eowyn

I was not really fond of Eowyn in the books, se was too cold and selfish, but Miranda Otto did such a good job in the movies that she became one of my favorite characters (well, I was mostly fond of Rohan, so no surprise here). Too bad she had not do much afterwards, although I suspect that I like characters, not actors themselves :P

On with Lord of the Rings ...

This is king Theoden, also with pencil and watercolors. I particularly liked his Ragnarok based speech at Pelenor, so he ended up being among my fav characters.

And this is another guy I like ...

... since I saw him first as Xena's Caesar. He looks better as Eomer, though.

This is the first pencil draft:

And here is the colored skecth, using watercolors.

After watching the second film, I went through a LotR drawing spree, so expect more of this around in a future :)

You can't take the sky from me

Nothing new this weekend, not much time to spare with Xmas so close and everything, so I'm uploading a couple of old sketches of one of my platonic loves (yep, I'm a bit old for this but old habits die hard), Mal Reynolds, from Firefly.

Isn't it unfair that the series got cancelled after just 13 amazing episodes? Have I told you already how I hate Fox executives? At least, seems like Futurama is back ...
