Excalibur Board Game

A couple of years ago I thought of updating the art of an old license released board game. Then, life got in the middle :P

Excalibur card game

There was this very old Heroquest like card game that I liked. Game dynamics are still good, but the artwork ... not so much. Last year, when I still had a bit of spare time, I started to redraw the cards. I filled a full moleskine and then I had to change my job position. Maybe in a future, when I go back to my old job ...

My sector of Rome

... for the SW Game, at least. I'm more a San Giovanni Latterano kind of person. Of course, I had to go in detail and regret it after the first 7 minutes :(

First test with Inkling

And it works better than I expected, but not quite, i.e. some pen strokes are slightly misplaced and the resulting sketch is not quite the same in paper (e.g. the eyes are a bit weird on screen). I'm betting one has to keep the notebook as flat and still as possible, too

This is (sort of) my Skyrim character, BTW

Left 4 dead II deathmatch!

Sooo ... Rocio and I spent the best hours of a perfectly sunny weekend killing zombies inside a house and all we had to show for it was a headache and the leftovers of a perfectly useless plan on an actual drawing board :P But just you wait, zombies, we'll get ya sooner or later.

Pandemic

Another friday night playing board games (must be getting old). This time we played Alhambra and, for the sake of team building, a cooperative game: Pandemic. Pandemic focus on fighting four different viral diseases that are spreading all over the world. Players get a role, so they can be specialized in a specific skill, and they've got to move around, healing population and, at the same time, trying to find the cure for each virus. Initially, the game seems pretty easy, but after losing 4 or 5 games in a row, one realizes that complexity grows exponentially as turns increase and, all in all, it requires good strategy and a fair amount of luck to actually succeed. I really like this game :)

Freaky-weekend I: Arkham Horror

Last weekend, we rented a cottage in the middle of nowhere and moved there for three days with lots of (unhealthy) food, a projector, a HDD full of zombie movies, the XBox with every complement we could grab -Kinect included- and a mountain of board games. I carried my notebook and took several quick sketches of many moments there, so I'll be posting them these days.

First, a game of Arkham Horror, set in Lovecraft's creepy universe. It takes a long time to complete one of this games, but it is real fun :) First, the game box:

Now, one of the players at her turn (she might disagree, because it is not a good portrait, but she kept moving, and it took 5 minutes, so ...)

Some locations at Arkham (on the back of the cards)

And one of the gateway locations (where I ended first), the Dreamlands.

I used watercolors in a couple of sketches and a few Tombow markers in the rest.

G-Puzzle

This is a small logo for an Android game that we developed last year: gravity puzzle.

This is a small logo I did for a game we developed at work.

Munchkin-Lab strikes back

Fix-it-all! (Class)

He's as handy to iron a fluxo-condensator as to sweep your screensaver.
If combined with Lydia, they get lost one out of every two turns.

New Munchkin-Lab card!

Super-glamourous adventurer!
You always find an extra treasure ... if you are able to find yourself. Each time you defeat a monster, throw a dice. 3 or less, you get the extra treasure. 4 or more, you and your GPS(Mari Puri) lose a turn trying to localize yourselves xD

Enough, I say!

"The monster does not want to attack you anymore and, leaving its treasure behind, it just goes after anyone who tried to help you for supporting senseless violence"
