My own theory is that the Boltons are descendents from that lord commander of the Guard that married a White Walker and had to be put down by the Starks in Ol' Nan's tales. Think about it: pale, blue, blue eyes, all the thing with the leeches and blood, cruel, a sadist, and his bastard son has a thing for corpses- I guess we'll see ... someday
