St Simeon

One of the most impressive temples in ruins I've seen in my life: St Simeon in Syria. I wonder how much of all this will be left after the war :(

Some oldies. Portugal was the first country I visited when I was very small and I still like it like the first day :)

Where you go for beer and food and you get it ... double. BTW, rather than directions, you need GPS coordinates for Double Musky, but it's totally worth it :D

The Bats & Snake Temple

Image
During a visit to Bali, we were traveling around and found this temple in a cave at dusk, called the Bats & Snake Cave. I recall I commented to some local guy about the symbology associated to bats and snakes in local folklore and he simply negated and pointed inside: "there's the snake" to a REALLY HUGE light green snake moving inside, and out when the sun and a cloud of bats a-la-Batman flew out of the place in a second "and here are the bats". Served me right, too :D

Tomb Raider (I)

After spending quite some time traveling, this summer I settled down (at the beach) for the newest Tomb Raider game. I recall the fist game as love at first sight, what with the hidden ruins, lost legends , faraway places and a faithful desert eagle, too. However, I had grown weary of the games because they did not change much through the years, so even though I bought the former, I have not played it yet. Tomb Raider 2013 has been a pleasant surprise because, finally, they changed (simplified) the interface and added some cool new features. In fact, I'll probably play it again. Since I did a short comic book when I played the first one, I've gone for one of my usual game diaries with this. It's not an RPG, though, so there's probably more action and less storytelling than usual :)
