Edoras in watercolor
The black tower seems better in black, but I guess Edoras should look kinda golden, huh? This one was done with watercolor and ecolines. The place looked nicer live, there in Canterbury, but we had no palace back there

Visby, land of peaceful vikings ...

... and holiday island for most swedish. Visby, in Gotland, has an excellent state of preservation, with lots of amazing churches and medieval buildings. It seems that people in Visby tended to open the doors to invaders, so they did not have the urge to conqueer and destroy. Sort of like Ankh Morpork :D The symbol of the city is a lamb, so go and tell!

Go, tablet, go!

After almost one year of having a tablet, I've finally discovered that there is funny stuff you can do with it, work apart. This is a quick sketch I did yesterday while playing PS2 with my sister. It did not took long, as I was watching the Resident Evil IV cover over the table and needed no further reference - My sis just had time to play two songs in Guitar Hero :D
A quick sketch I did in a coffee shop ...

An experiment in coloring
This is a test using Oli's tutorial on finger painting using Photoshop. My first try is not that good, but it's something, anyway. And the tutorial is amazing!

And more New Zealand

This is Fox Glacier, in the South Island, close to Milford Sound. It has an amazing ice cave, but it could not be visited without crampoons :(
Franz Josef glacier, a short drive away, might be better known and easier to reach by feet, but I prefer Fox. Too bad NZ is so far from Spain, it's the best place to spend the holidays!

This is New Zealand ...

Albert Park in Auckland, to be more precise. The clock belongs to the University of Auckland and the park is close to Victoria Street, a very nice place for a walk.

And this is Tehenga beach, in Bethells valley, one hour away from Auckland. It might be better known for some of you because it appears again and again both in Xena and Hercules. It is supposed to be the local beach for kiwis, and, hence, quite packed in summer. From the mediterranean point of view, it could well be the most isolated place in Earth.

And finally, Mt Cook, where Sir Mallory trained to climb the Everest and Gandalf fought the Balrog. Very nice place and it seems to have a face too! From the maori point of view, I think it was supposed to be the top of the canoe that Maui used to fish the north island out of the sea.
I did all these sketches live, back in 2002, when I spent february at the Middle Earth :)
